What is certified translation and when you need it

For administrative purposes, some documents, such as birth, death and marriage certificates, extracts from registers, contracts etc., need to be translated “with a stamp”. Such translations are also known as official or certified translations.

In Slovakia, only a sworn translator, i.e. a person registered in the list of experts, interpreters and translators maintained by the Ministry of Justice, may provide them. As a sworn translator for Slovak-English combination with a seat in Bratislava I am able to offer you this service.

About me

I have translated official documents, contracts or other legal texts for approximately 15 years. I had also obtained valuable experience of translating official EU documents while working as a linguist within the EU institutions in Brussels as well as while providing external translations for the European Commission.

Besides the position of sworn translator I also work as an attorney-at-law, which enables me to use my knowledge of law when translating legal documents, thus ensuring that they are of high quality.
